A baby girl born in Tondo, Manila, is considered the symbolic eight billionth person from the Philippines. She was Venice Mabansag, born at Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila on Tuesday, November 15.
"So we just witnessed the world's eighth billionth baby in the Philippines. So we waited around two hours starting 11 p.m. last night, and the baby was delivered at around 1:29 a.m., normal spontaneous delivery," Dr. Romeo Bituin, the hospital's chief medical professional staff, said in a report from GMA News.
Previously, the United Nations estimated that by the middle of November, there would be 8 billion people worldwide. It looks like they hit the mark on this estimate.
