Godofredo Ramos' Day

On this day, we commemorate the birth of the so-called Father of Aklan, Godofredo "Tay Goding" Ramos, the mastermind behind the separation of Aklan from Capiz to become a province.

Under Proclamation No.194, signed by Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, President of the Republic of the Philippines, issued in 2002, November 8th of each year is designated as a day to recognize the achievements of Tay Goding. It is also declared a special non-working holiday in the Province of Aklan.
