Communicators' Guild holds CommUNIQUEcate 2022

Updated: Dec 18, 2022

More than 200 AB students attended and competed in various activities as Communicator's Guild conducted its CommUNIQUEcate 2022: The Communicator Talent Joust with the theme, “Setting the Yardstick of Excellence in Language and Communication”. Students from AB English, BA English Language Studies, and BA Communication participated in the 2-day activities of the said celebration on December 13-14, 2022, at ASU Banga Conference Hall and TE Building.

Mr. Jonell S. Gregorio, CG Adviser, emphasized that part of being excellent is listening to something that will enrich you, not something a ‘Marites’ (gossip) in his welcome remarks. “Excellence is not an act, it’s not a one-day event. Excellence happens when we do it repeatedly. When it becomes part of us. When it becomes a second major to who we are and what we are,” he added.

The participants showcased their talents in the following contests on Day 1: News Casting, Radio Broadcasting, and Radio Drama, Character Impersonation, Spoken Word Poetry, Declamation, Oration, Extemporaneous Speech, and Research Presentation.

Day 2 was set for the participants in collaborative publishing, presentation of a 1-minute silent film, mobile photojournalism, infomercial, and the on-the-spot writing contests in the news category, feature, column, essay, short story, and poem writing.

The said event was organized by the Communicator’s Guild, a Sub-Organization under the School of Arts and Sciences at Aklan State University-Main Campus.
