The Apes of Sta. Cruz, also known as The Monkeys Tribe, stole the spotlight by securing the first place in the Balik-Patik Battle of the Bands 2024 held at Pastrana Park in Kalibo on January 16.
The Monkey Tribe not only claimed the top spot but also bagged a cash prize of ₱50,000, along with an additional ₱20,000 for excelling in the Best in Costume and the Most Jolly Group special awards.
Jisty Deendy Dinglasan, mentioned that this was the first time The Apes of Sta. Cruz participated in the said competition.
Meanwhile, the Aklanon Troopers secured the second spot, earning a cash prize of ₱40,000, while the Kamatuoran Band clinched the third position with a prize of ₱30,000.
Other participating groups, including Skylarks, Roadside, Bunggos 0501, Naisud Drumbeat, Kalmado's Band, and D'Imagine, added to the vibrancy of the competition.
